IT Hiring Trends for 2009 PDF Print E-mail

The 3W survey of IT Hiring Trends for 2009 has now closed and the results are now available.

There were a number of interesting trends that came to light, including:

  1. The Northern Territory showed a significant increase in their intended hiring trends of permanent IT professionals for 2009 while the results for Victoria tend to indicate that there will be no dramatic change in the hiring of permanent IT professionals in 2009 for that state.
  2. Both Queensland and the ACT showed a decrease in the hiring intentions of contract IT professionals for 2009. Given the large government markets in both of these locations, it could be speculated that this is a reflection of the Federal Governments aim to reduce reliance on IT contractors.
  3. Victoria showed the most dramatic response to IT salary confidence with 60% of IT Managers expecting them to decrease during 2009.

The results are available for to download in PDF format (file size: 1.22mb).
